Gardner Street at I-80 in Joliet closing Tuesday

Gardner Street at Interstate 80 in Joliet will be temporarily closed during daytime hours beginning Tuesday, the city of Joliet said.The street will be shut down from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Saturday, to allow crews to safely install beams for the new bridge, the city said on Monday.Gardner Street is expected to reopen each evening at 5 p.m. The work is expected to be completed by Friday, Nov. 13.Drivers will be directed to use Mills Road, Richards Street, and 4th Street, the city saidDrivers should follow posted detour signs, allow extra travel time, and use caution near the work zone.
